The Journey
A single, flowing route through Botswana’s greatest wilderness
This is the classic Botswana safari, refined. You begin in the predator-rich woodlands of Moremi Game Reserve and the neighbouring Khwai Concession, where game densities are among the highest on the continent. From there you travel overland to Savuti — a name spoken with reverence by safari-goers — before continuing north to the Chobe Riverfront, home to Africa’s largest elephant population.
You fly in to Maun at the start and fly out of Kasane at the end. In between, the journey is made by open 4x4 safari vehicle, watching the landscape shift from Delta floodplain to mopane woodland to the great Chobe River. Each sector gives you two full nights in camp — enough time to settle into the rhythm of the bush, follow a pride for a morning, or return to a leopard sighting at first light.
The safari can be run two ways. Travel classic mobile camping for the most authentic connection to the wilderness, or choose lodge to lodge for permanent rooms, pools and a little more polish between game drives. The guiding, the routes and the wildlife experiences are identical.
“Two nights in each place. Just the sound of the bush, a fire at night, and the best predator country in southern Africa outside your tent.”
Getting There & Away
Fly in to Maun. Fly out of Kasane. Drive the wild in between.
Light aircraft are used only at the very start and very end of the safari. Everything in between is travelled by open 4x4 safari vehicle, with your guide at the wheel and the bush unfolding around you.
Maun → Moremi / Khwai
Your safari begins in Maun. A short light-aircraft hop of around 20 minutes lifts you over the Delta fringes and sets you down at a bush airstrip in the Moremi / Khwai area, where your guide is waiting.
Moremi / Khwai → Savuti
A full transit day by open 4x4, crossing from the Delta woodlands into the Savuti ecosystem of Chobe National Park. Wildlife is followed the whole way, with a picnic lunch in the bush.
Savuti → Chobe Riverfront
Another game-viewing transit day north through Chobe National Park, arriving at the Chobe Riverfront for two nights on the banks of the river.
Kasane → Onward
Your safari ends in Kasane. Fly out from Kasane International Airport, with direct connections to Maun, Gaborone, Victoria Falls, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Day by Day
Seven days in the wild
A suggested flow. Your guide will adapt each day to wildlife movement, weather and the interests of the group.
Maun to Moremi — Into the Predator Country
Flight inYou are collected in Maun and flown by light aircraft to a bush airstrip in the Moremi / Khwai area — roughly 20 minutes in the air. Your guide meets you on arrival and drives you to camp, where a full safety briefing and camp orientation takes place before any activity. Lunch, a siesta, then your first afternoon game drive as the light softens.
Full Day in Moremi & the Khwai Concession
An early start for the best predator activity. You explore the mopane woodlands, riverine forest and open floodplains around Xakanaxa Lagoon and the Khwai River. After brunch back at camp, the afternoon offers a game drive or — water levels permitting — a tranquil mokoro excursion along the Khwai. In the evening, weather and conditions allowing, a night drive reveals genets, civets and owls.
Drive to Savuti — The Legendary Marsh
4x4 transferA transit day by open 4x4 safari vehicle, crossing from the Delta woodlands into the Savuti ecosystem of Chobe National Park. This is a game-viewing day in its own right — your guide follows tracks and follows the wildlife as you go, with a picnic lunch set up in the bush along the way. You arrive at camp in the late afternoon, in time for a shower before dinner.
Full Day in Savuti — Predator Territory
A full day of game drives in prime predator country. Savuti is famous for its lions, spotted hyenas and wild dogs, and for the elephants that move through in enormous numbers. Your guide will read the morning tracks and plan the day around what has been moving overnight. Sundowners on the marsh as the light drops is one of Botswana’s great safari moments.
Drive to Chobe — Sunset on the River
4x4 transferA morning game drive before the overland transfer north through Chobe National Park to the Chobe Riverfront. Wildlife is followed along the way. Arriving in the afternoon, you settle into camp or lodge — and if time allows, board a boat for a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. Hippos, crocodiles, kingfishers and, if you are lucky, elephants swimming across the channel.
Full Day in Chobe — Land of Giants
Chobe holds Africa’s largest elephant population, and the riverfront is where they gather. A morning game drive along the floodplains is followed by brunch and a rest, then an afternoon river cruise for close-up views of elephants drinking and bathing, huge buffalo herds, and spectacular birdlife — including carmine bee-eaters in season. A farewell dinner rounds off the safari.
Departure from Kasane
Flight outIf time allows, one last early-morning activity before breakfast. You are then transferred to Kasane International Airport for your onward flight — direct connections to Maun, Gaborone, Victoria Falls, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Guests continuing to Victoria Falls can be assisted with cross-border transfers.
